Creating Harmony with our Animals
When: May 10th from 11 am - 3 pm
Where: Wag, Raleigh

Bringing together the dynamic trio of Animal Communications, Animal Healing, and Customized Flower Essences to introduce techniques that help you understand your animal's viewpoint, support their emotional and physical well-being, and deepen your relationship. Jean Ussery of Animal Converations will be available to talk to you about Animal Communications. Susan King of Companion Chi will be available to talk to you about animal massage and energy work. Cathy Lloyd of A Unique Approach will be available to talk to you about flower essences. Throughout the day, each member of this Dynamic Trio will give a short presentation. The Golden Retriever fun walk
When: May 4th at 1:30 pm
Where: American Tobacco Trail, White Oak Church Parking Area

Join other Golden Retrievers and their friends for a fun, relaxing walk. Golden Gait is sponsored by Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue and is open to anyone who wants to learn more about NRGRR, hang out with other Golden Retrievers or simply enjoy a walk in the woods. Pet Foster Fair
When: May 14th from 2 pm - 4 pm
Where: AniMall, Prime Outlet Mall, Morrisville

This Fair is for anyone interested in sharing their home with a foster pet but want to find out what is involved before making a commitment. On hand to answer questions will be: Carolina Pet Rescue(small animals), Heaven and Earth Animal Rescue Team, Pawfect Match Rescue Group, Pet Foster Network, & K9 Solutions LLC. Painted Chair Workshop
When: May 10th & 17th from 11 am - 5 pm

Three local artists teach a painted furniture workshop to create pieces for the Independent Animal Rescue Auction, which benefits thousands of animals in the Triangle. Well-known Durham artists Emily Weinstein, Kathyrn DeMarco, and Paula MacLeod show how to prepare furniture for application and explain faux finishes, mosaic and collage techniques. Participants then create works of art out of ordinary household furniture. Most materials are supplied but a short materials list will be provided. The workshop fee of $95 includes a piece of furniture that participants will use for the class and which will then be donated to Independent Animal Rescue. This is a non-profit organization that receives no public funds. Finished furniture will be auctioned at the Independent Animal Rescue Auction in July. Workshop for Adoption Professionals

Spring Social
When: May 17th starting at 7 pm
Where: Bent Tree Clubhouse, Raleigh

The social is hosted by C.A.R.E. for Animals and all proceeds benefit the animals in their care awaiting their forever homes. They will have hor d'oevres, a silent auction (one of the items is a session for your animal with Companion Chi), a raffle, and DJ music to get the party going! Putt'n 4 Paws Golf Tournament
When: May 18th
Where: Bull Creek Golf Course, Louisburg, NC

Benefiting The Franklin County Humane Society. Teams of 4 can register for $85 per person(registration ends May 1st). Green fees include: Lunch(Village Deli), Dinner(KSI Catering), Green/Cart Fees, Beverages, & Embers Concert. Bring a guest for dinner & concert for only $15/person. Top of the Box Fundraiser
When: May 24th from 11 am - 1 pm
Where: Phydeaux Pet Shop, 103 W. Weaver St., Carrboro

Shop for goodies like dog or cat food, toys or treats to donate to rescued dogs and cats with Best Friend Pet Adoption. For more information, go to BFPA.

Wishes for Whiskers Golf Classic
When: May 24th
Where: Glen Oaks Golf Club, Maiden, NC

Mountain Hounds 2008
When: May 29th - June 1st
Where: Gaitlenburg, TN

Greyhound Friends of NC is hosting this yearly event. This event is full of activities for you and your dogs. Companion Chi will be offering dog massages during this event. For more information, go to Mountain Hounds.

Cary Dog Day Afternoon
When: June 7th from 11 am - 3:30 pm
Where: Bond Park, Cary

Bring your canine companions and the rest of your family out for a day of fun to benefit area animal rescue groups. The day includes Live music by 2nd Stage Acoustic Trio, “Wag’n Trail” Charity Dog Walk @ 1:00pm, A raffle to benefit Paw-fect Match Rescue, Rabies and Microchip clinic, Dog/Owner look-alike contest sponsored by Camp Bow Wow, Food and Ice Cream vendors, and A Flying Disc Competition sponsored by Skyhoundz starting at 10:00am.

Doggie Luaua
When: June 21st from 11 am - 4 pm
Where: Gourmutt's Bakery

A fun luau themed party complete with tropical goodies for the canines. Feel free to dress in "Island attire". For more information, go to Gourmutt's.

Auction for the Animals
When: June 21st at 3:00 pm (auction begins at 5 pm)
Where: Raleigh Auction House, 4900-A Craftsman Drive, Raleigh

Proceeds from the auction benefit AniMall Pet Adoption & Outreach Center, Marley's Cat Tales, Carolina Pet Rescue. All proceeds from the auction will go towards continuing the above rescues’ mutual goals of helping adoptable pets in the greater Triangle area find homes. The event is open to the public and you are invited to share in the evening of food, friendship, and fun as money is raised for this great cause. Donations are currently being accepted for the auction - contact one of the above groups for additional information.

8th Annual NRGRR Rescue Reunion Picnic
When: July 26th from 11 am - 2 pm
Where: Montague's Pond, Cary

The Rescue Reunion is a fun time for all and gets bigger and better each year. It is a great way to meet volunteers, say hi to old alumni, make new friends and have a great time with your dog(s). Adopted or not, bring your pooch for some fun in the water with friends. For more information, go to NRGRR.

Golden on the Green
When: August 23rd
Where: River Ridge Golf Club

Benefits Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue. It is Captain's Choice with a shotgun start at 1:30 pm. Individual registration is $80 and team sponsor levels are available. Lunch, dinner, cart and range balls are included. For more information or to register, go to Golden on the Green.

Silent Auction/BBQ
When: August 23rd
Where: Swift Creek Community Center

Enjoy some great BBQ and bid for a variety of items while helping to support Sound Pet Animal Rescue & Referral(SPARR). For more information, go to SPARR.

IAAMB 5th Annual Educational Conference
When: Sept. 4th - 6th
Where: Toledo, OH

The International Association of Animal Massage and Bodywork (IAAMB) is holding their annual conference. Some of the topics that will be presented include Animal Communications, TTouch, Law of Attraction, and Fitness Evaluation of the Equine and Canine. For more information, go to IAAMB.

AniMall
Where: Prime Outlets, Morrisville

The AniMall Pet Adoption and Outreach Center is a 501-c-3 non-profit pet adoption center in the Triangle area of North Carolina. Located at Prime Outlets of Morrisville, they provide a central location for animal rescues and the public to interact in a mall setting for the purpose of finding homes for homeless pets. ReTails
Where: 1608 N. Market Drive, Raleigh

AnimalKind has opened up the first Thrift Shop in the county to benefit animals in need. Proceeds from the thrift store will benefit the $20 FIX Spay/Neuter financial assistance program. For more information, go to AnimalKind.

Pet First Aid Classes

The American Red Cross offers a wonderful Pet First Aid class where you can learn CPR and other important basic first aid information. For more information & to register, go to Red Cross.
