Susan King is the proud Guardian of 2 wonderful dogs named Petunia & Big Lulu as well as 2 beautiful cats named Little Lulu & Harley.
Susan is massaging Lagan, an Irish Wolfhound. Susan has received over 1,000 hours of animal bodywork training from the following institutions:
Susan is an active member of the International Association of Animal Massage & Bodywork (IAAMB) and served on the board. She is also an active member of the International Association of Animal Massage Therapists (IAAMT), the International Alliance for Animal Therapy and Healing (IAATH), and The K9 Circle. Susan has been a volunteer for the SPCA of Wake County and received the Volunteer of the Year award for 2001. She has also volunteered for Second Chance. Susan's involvement with the SPCA and her enjoyment of working with and helping the rescued animals led her to a career in animal massage after spending 13 years working in the DOD and IT "worlds" as a Mathematician. Susan continues to work with various rescue groups providing the rescued animals with free massage and energetic healing sessions. Susan has been interviewed by Don Ross with Eyewitness News 11, Sara Nakasone with NBC-17, Megan Jones with The Cary News, Jane Ruffin with The News & Observer, and Cary Magazine. She has also provided massage demonstrations at various events, such as the Southern Woman's Show, the Wake Canine Search and Rescue's holiday fundraising event, MAGDRL's fundraising event, and NC State's Veterinary Holistic Club. Susan has also been a guest speaker for Tarheel Golden Retriever Club, SAS's Well Pet Series, and the Animal Companion class at NC State. This site is dedicated to the memory of 4 of my loving furry pals that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Our Boxer, Maudie, was my "first born" and will always hold a special place in my heart. Our cat, Rascal, came with my husband, Jay, and made me fall in love with having cats around the house to snuggle. Our Sheltie/Lab mix, Minnie, was my "little shadow" who liked to keep the other animals in line and had the most beautiful smile. My wonderful Miniature Poodle, Charlie, who was my best buddy throughout most of my childhood. ![]()
